Profoundly Shallow - A not-so-enchanting anthology of witty, whimsical, and sometimes insightful essays that erratically traverses the comedic landscape. Profoundly Shallow explores the absurdity and minutiae of daily life, social conventions, expectations, annoyances, pseudo-intellectualism, lack of self-awareness, and the universal experience of life’s journey into the awkwardness of the human condition. From the chaotic heroism of being a pizza delivery guy in the 1980s and the questionable title of “best man” at a friend’s fourth wedding, to the imbecilic credence some put into astrology and inviting Jehovah Witnesses into your house. Sean R. Cabibi’s lightly-dismissive appreciation for the humorous side of life's unpredictability, unreasonableness, and impermanence is a unique approach to observational humor… well, just as unique as everyone else.

Damage Enhancement - For tow-truck driver Travis Fletcher, life hasn’t gone as planned. Financially struggling in lower-middle class America, Travis spends his days fighting for tow jobs as a wreck chaser on the freeways of the Bay Area while struggling at night to figure out how to support his family. When presented a chance to partner with a crooked auto body shop committing insurance fraud, Travis begins to dip his toes into the criminal underworld to make a little extra cash. What starts as nothing more than a quick and easy way to financially get ahead, quickly spirals into a complex web of deceit, murder, old grudges, and moral ambiguity. As Travis tries to dodge authorities, stay alive, keep his double-life secret and his family protected, he has to deal with his own insecurities, past missteps, and frustrations with others that have surpassed him socially and financially. The deeper Travis is entangled into the underworld, truths are uncovered, deceptions revealed, and manipulation becomes the name of the game in a fight for survival.
For Travis, the seemingly victimless crime of insurance fraud quickly surges into dark territory uncovering the complexities of friendship and love, as well as the moral dilemmas faced by individuals who are forced to navigate a world of crime. What does justice truly mean in the context of deeply flawed human beings?
